On the first Wiesn-Saturday at 12 noon, the Oktoberfest officially starts, when the mayor of Munich taps the first barrel of Oktoberfest-Beer in the Schottenhamel tent and shouts: "O’zapft is!". Young people love the Schottenhamel tent, pupils from Munich meet there. The benches are shorter than in the other tents and grouped around square tables. That’s why conversations with people next to you start easily.
